Marjorie V. Mann Goodall, 95, lifelong resident of Chesterfield County, passed away July 5, 2016 at Sunrise Senior Living at George Mason in Fairfax, Virginia. Born July 29, 1920 in Petersburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wesley Thomas Mann and Zadel Moore Mann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Peyton Goodall; a grandson, Whitney Peyton Wilkerson; and her brother, Lester T. Mann. She was a devoted wife, mother, and an integral partner in their family businesses. As a lifelong member of Ettrick United Methodist Church, she served as a Sunday School teacher, administrative board member, Christmas pageant director and wedding coordinator. She volunteered for many years as a 4H Club Leader in Chesterfield County, and an art department coordinator for the Chesterfield County Fair. She was an accomplished needlework and craft artist. Mrs. Goodall is survived by her daughters, Marjorie Lynne Goodall of Fredericksburg and Kathryn Goodall Squires (Malcolm) of Fairfax; granddaughter, Wesley Wilkerson Montrief (Scott) of Fredericksburg; grandsons, Dr. Malcolm Hart Squires III (Heidi) of Atlanta and Harris Goodall Squires of Seattle; great-grandchildren, Isaac, Leigha, and Garrett Montrief and Everly Squires. She was also blessed with Peyton's extended family. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, July, 15, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia, followed by a memorial service at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at the Dunlop House, 235 Dunlop Farms Blvd., Colonial Heights, Virginia, 23834, following the memorial service. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff of Sunrise Senior Living in Fairfax, Virginia and sitters, Priscilla Butts and Denise Price of Colonial Heights for their patient and loving care.
