Mark Allan Minson, 65, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1960, in Virginia to his late parents, George Sr. and Loueen Minson. He is also preceded in death by his niece, Melissa Doris Edmundson.
He is survived by brothers, George W. Minson, II and John Henry Minson; sisters, Elizabeth Minson Deeb (Michael) and Danita Minson Archer; God brother, James Arlin Ivey (Stephanie); nieces, Madlina Ivey, Madison Ivey, and Makayla Ivey; nephew, Peter S. Pickering (Robyn); great-nieces, Eloise Margaret Pickering and Beatrice Elizabeth Pickering; great-nephew, Theo Kruger Pickering; and various other family and friends that loved him.
Mark was known for his loving and caring nature. He had a passion for life, which he expressed through his love of boating, fishing, water skiing, swimming, and skating. Mark’s joyful spirit and sense of adventure were infectious, especially when he was spending time with his family and friends at the river. Whether he was shooting pool, telling stories, or simply being there for others, Mark’s presence was a comforting constant to all who knew him. Mark was a member of The Heights Baptist Church.
Professionally, Mark worked as an electrician, a career he took great pride in, always working with dedication and skill. He was a family-oriented man who valued the time spent with his loved ones above all else.
A graveside service to honor Mark’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery, 3101 Nine Mile Rd, Richmond, VA 23223. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
