Mark David Northam, 57, of Prince George, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 21, 2023. A native to Church View, Virginia, he was born on February 16, 1966, to the late George Henry Northam, Jr. and Elizabeth Bagby Morris Northam.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy McLean Northam; his son who he loved deeply, Connor McLean Northam; his brothers, Rick and Joe Northam; special friends, Harry and Kathryn Forrest; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Mark graduated from Middlesex High School, and then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He worked in telecommunications for Verizon for 23 dedicated years. Mark was known for his beautiful smile and infectious giggle. He seemed to have never met a stranger and was always willing to help whenever needed. Second to his family was Mark’s love for everything outdoors and nature. He had a true passion for fishing, hunting, hiking, and many other adventures. He especially enjoyed taking numerous trips to many different places to enjoy his outdoor hobbies with his close friends who he loved immensely. In addition to his hobbies, Mark loved to support and honor veterans for their service. He often times volunteered to clean up various veteran’s cemeteries and laid wreaths on their graves. Mark was a caring and kind person, and may those who knew him find comfort in knowing he continues to explore the wonders of eternal nature.
