Marlyn H. Parker, 84, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at her residence. Born in Hatfield, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late H.K. and Hattie White Hardin, and was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Farley, and Buel Parker and two sisters, Rose D. Harrison and Ruby D. Newson. Mrs. Parker was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, a Past President of the Colonial Heights Optimist Mrs., and a member of the Colonial Heights Senior Club. Mrs. Parker was formerly employed by the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Haddon and husband, Steve of Midlothian; a son, Dr. Gary Farley and wife, Sheryl of Colonial Heights; two sisters, Naomi H. Markum and husband, Herman of Orlando, Florida, Virginia D. Wright of West Virginia; a brother, Hese Hardin Jr. of Decatur, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Stephanie Rudicil and husband, Mark, Kristie Garofalo and husband, Jason of Mechanicsville, Thomas Farley of Colonial Heights, Katie Farley of Colonial Heights, Jeffrey Farley of Dinwiddie, and Alby Farley of Colonial Heights; three great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a beloved niece, Debbie Harrison. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. Please assemble at the gravesite. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday (tonight) at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
