Martha Burton

Martha Ann Burton, 77, went home to be with the Lord on January 21, 2011. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Edward H. Burton. Born in Gary, West Virginia, Martha has been a resident of Matoaca, Virginia since 1966. Martha was a devoted Christian and long time member of Matoaca Baptist Church. Martha is also survived by her loving children, Edward H. Burton Jr., and wife, Cherlyne of Matoaca, Judith Dowdy of Glen Allen, Louis Dowdy, of Dinwiddie, David Burton and wife, Cathy of Glenside Pennsylvania, Mary Beth Jones of Colonial Heights, Willie Jones of Richmond, Reverend Jim Burton and wife, Becky of Colonial Heights; a sister, Melda Lamanna and husband, Vince of Sterling Heights, Michigan; her grandchildren, Cindy Ward and husband, Troy, John Tucker Jr., and wife, Mary, Jason Burton and wife, Kristi, Sarah Troutman and husband, Will, Colin Jones, Amanda Rivera and husband, Josh, Caleb Jones, Jordyn Burton, Sydney Burton, Connor Jones, and Reilly Burton; six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of very close friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at Matoaca Baptist Church 6409 River Road, Matoaca, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Robert Rowland officiating. Interment East Matoaca Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, January 24, 2011 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Matoaca Baptist Church.
