Martha Gooch

Martha H. "Monkey" Gooch, 68, of McKenney passed on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center. Born in Dinwiddie, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary Hawkins. Mrs. Gooch was a member of McKenney Baptist Church, and a waitress at the Home Place Restaurant in Dinwiddie for more than 20 years. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Ronnie Gooch; her children, Norma Newcomb and husband, Ray of Reno, Nevada, David Hoyle of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kim Kidwell and husband, Stanley of Dinwiddie; grandchildren, Reid, Ben, Tyler and Michael Kidwell; a brother, Clarence Hawkins and wife, Clara; four sisters, Jean Reeves, Alice Hawkins, Frances Reams, and Rose McCaffity and husband, Billie; numerous much loved nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Jonathan Dundalow officiating. Interment will follow in Asbury Memorial Cemetery, McKenney. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
