Martha Wallen

Martha Jean Hicks Wallen, 78, danced her final waltz in the arms of the Love of her life her husband of 59 years James "Weinnie" E. Wallen, Sr., on Saturday June 30, 2012. She was one of God's original masterpieces, a beautiful woman whose faith, compassion, unconditional love and strength were an inspiration to all those who were blessed to have known her. She was predeceased by her son James E. Wallen, Jr., daughter Michele A. Wallen and 8 sisters. She is survived by her husband James E. Wallen, Sr.; 4 daughters and their spouses, Vicki Mitchell, Angel Mason, Carolyn Ginn and Chelsea Carlson; a son, Joseph J. Duck; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Janie Bayer and a host of dear friends, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday July 5, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard and also from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. the day of the service at church. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday July 6, 2012 at St. Ann Catholic Church 17111 Jefferson Davis Highway Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family invites you to join them and share your memories at St. Ann Catholic Church Hospitality Center immediately following the Interment.
