Marti Smith

Marti E. Smith, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017, in McKenney, Virginia. Born to Phillip Eugene and Elizabeth Reese Smith (Colonial Heights), Marti worked as a truck driver for Vender Supply in Hopewell. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, going fishing, and spending time with his family. Marti is survived by his son, Justin Blake Rodriguez of Alexandria, VA; his daughter, Grace Nicole Brown of Rockwood, TN; four grandchildren; paternal grandparents, Carl J. and Janie Lucille Smith; his sister, Angela Smith Argueta (Jose) of Dinwiddie; Brother, Phillip Darian Smith (Deneen Lee) of Dinwiddie; a nephew, Corey Smith; his Niece, Sabina Argueta, and his longtime companion of 20 years, Angelah Jarratt and her children: Jerikah, Zachery, and Cody. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with internment to follow in Blandford Cemetery, 319 South Crater Road Petersburg, VA 23805 with the Reverend Lyndon Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 6, 2017, between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
