Martin Mitchell

Martin Thomas "Tommy" Mitchell, 66, of Chester, Virginia, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2016. Tommy was the son of the late Martin R. and Hazel T. Mitchell and was a long time resident of Enon, a Thomas Dale High School football alumni, a longtime pipefitter with Honeywell, and an avid powerlifter often found at Walker's Gym. Tommy was passionate about working out and in his spare time enjoyed the gym, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, and the ocean. He loved going to Key West and to Daytona Beach with his family, and loved animals, especially his Dobermans and German Shepard's. He was often found talking to Heidi about one dog or another, or going along for rescue "stuff". Tommy was extremely passionate about his children, Heather Sullivan (JJ) and Heidi Mirro (Vito); and his grandchildren; Mariah, Gabby, Michaela, Vito III and Giuliana. He was married to Reva, his only love, for 42 years. Interment will be a private service for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations sent to local animal rescue groups. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
