Marty Barry, born Martha Lennell Willis on April 21, 1951, died on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the age of 73. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; parents, Robert and Charlotte Willis; in-laws, Jiggs and Edith Barry; and brother-in-law, Jim Wilson.  She is survived by her brothers, Bob Willis and his wife, Darla, and Michael Willis and his wife, Charlene; sister-in-law, Gail Barry Wilson; beloved nephews, Ronnie Wilson and his wife, Crissy, Todd Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, and Michael Roeber and his family; beloved nieces, Heather Lewis and her husband, Rob, Lauren Willis Moore and her family, and Stacy Winn and her family; great-nephews, Tristan Wilson, Jake Wilson, Logan Wilson, Noah Lewis Holmes, Vincent Lewis, Mack Short, Luke Saxton, and Eric Saxton; great-nieces, Abbey Wilson, Sydney Bradley and her husband, Chase, Waverly Lewis, and Niele Short; and great-great-niece, Freya Wilson.  Marty traveled a lot with Ron, but also with her closest friends, Jaye, Leslie, Tish, Suzanne, and Janelle. To this day, what went on in the Bahamas, stayed in the Bahamas. She loved college football and basketball, always watched and rooted for the Redskins, and unless they were playing the Redskins, she loved the Steelers and the Raiders as well. She loved to watch golf on tv and of course, her beloved Yankees! But most of all she was happiest when Barryworld was open, and the house was full of people. She loved nothing more than being surrounded by family and friends, sitting in the sun drinking her favorite adult beverage. Life was good! A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2024, at Southlawn Memorial Park, 1911 Birdsong Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805. Arrangements are being handled by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, https://www.stjude.org, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
