Marvin Gray Eyler, 92, of Colonial Heights since 1955, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. Born and raised in Chester, he was the son of the late Jesse L. and Rosa Lee Cogbill Eyler. Marvin was preceded in death by two brothers, Ferdinand Eyler, and Jesse Eyler; three sisters, Betty Rose Hargrove, Lucille Hensley, and Marian Reichert. He was a United States Army Air Corp. veteran having served during WWII. Mr. Eyler was a member and former Deacon of Woodlawn Baptist Church, Colonial Heights, and retired as a Greyhound Bus Driver after 32 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Ettrick American Legion Post #136, and the local 1516 Amalgamated Transit Union. Marvin was a loving and caring husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary Frances Clark Eyler; a daughter Susan Eyler Brown and husband, Ray of Richmond; and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia with the Reverend Dr. John P. Mason officiating.
