Mary "Wilma" Benenhaley Clifton, 68, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017. Born on November 3, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Brooks Benenhaley and Mary E. Brown, and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Lewis Garber, Lawrence Garber and her twin brother, Willard Benenhaley. Whether she was out having a good time at the lake or simply just spending quality time with her family and friends, Mary was full of life and enjoyed every minute she had. She was feisty, always saying what was on her mind and never holding back, and was also tremendously loyal to everyone who was lucky enough to have her in their lives. Mary loved her furbabies, Wil, Gracie and Buffy. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Whitman; her loving daughters, Michelle Clifton Nguyen (Ly) and Kimberly Clifton (Leigh Ann Tustin); grandchild, Ty Nguyen, and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends an hour before the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mary's name to the Richmond Animal League, 11401 International Drive, Richmond, Virginia 23236, or Operation Catnip of Richmond, P.O. Box 268, Quinton, VA 23141.
