Mary Coleman

Mary Lampman Coleman, 82, of Prince George, passed away on Monday, October 03, 2016 at MCV Hospital in Richmond. She was the widow of Archie Lee Coleman and was preceded in death by her parents, William "Bill" and Adell Worley Lampman and a son Charles Michael. A 1952 graduate of Hopewell High School, she later received her Associate Degree from Richard Bland College in 1969. She continued her education at the College of William and Mary, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in 1971, a Master's Degree in 1975 and a Certificate in Advanced Study in 1979. Mrs. Coleman was a retired School Teacher / Guidance Counselor for the Prince George County School System. She was a former member and Elder at Gregory Presbyterian Church and attended the New Venture Fellowship Church and the Prince George Christian Church. She was the past President of the Woman's Club of Prince George and a former Board Member and Secretary / Treasurer of the Tri-Cities Road Runners. Mary loved to travel the world, going to countries that many of us just read about. She is survived by her sons, Dale Allan Coleman and wife, Kathleen of Oregon, and Terry Leon Coleman and wife, Michelle of Prince George; grandchildren, Dustin (Mary Beth), Rachel, Jack, Allison, Abigail, Wesley, Amy Taylor (Jeremy), and Kristina Hodge; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Roslynn, and Ashwin, Atahn, Ryker and Amelia; and numerous other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016 at the Prince George Christian Church, 7605 Prince George Drive Prince George, Virginia 23875, with the Reverend Wayne Marburger officiating. Visitation / reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Massey Cancer Center - VCU, P.O. Box 980214 Richmond, Virginia 23298-0214. Arrangements by the Crater Road Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road. Condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
