Mary Dice Cox of Georgetown, SC, died on Wednesday, August 31, 2022. She was a native of Petersburg, VA and the daughter of the late John E. and Mary Ellen (Nellie) K. Dice. She was a homemaker and enjoyed researching her family history and crafting.
She was predeceased by her husband, James H. Cox. She is survived by her daughters, Teresa (Danny) Tursi, Georgetown, SC, Patricia (James) Civitella, Georgetown, SC. Her sons, Kevin (Mari) Cox, Brooklyn, NY, Thomas (Kenya) Cox, Bear, DE. Her grandchildren, Joshua (Liann) A. Evans, Laura (John) Rutkowski, Kevin (Carol) O. Cox, Victor O. Cox, Kady R. Cox, James Civitella II, Dawn (Robert) Diesinger. Her great-grandchildren, James Civitella, III, Jack and Cole Civitella, Hannah, and Tyler Diesinger. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, several nieces, and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her brothers, John Martin (infant), John E. Dice, Jr., James J. Dice, Edward R. Dice, and sister, Jean Dice Motto.
The family would like to thank Tidelands Community Hospice for their care, dedication, and kindness, and would like to thank Shandrika Dorsey and Shirley Stafford for being such loving and compassionate caregivers for their mother.
Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 151 W Washington St, Petersburg, VA 23803. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on hour prior to Mass from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Joseph Church, P.O. Box 2006, Petersburg, VA. Online condolences may be registered at www.ealvinsmall.com.
