Mary Hales

Mary Eanes Hales, 88, a longtime resident of Colonial Heights, died Wednesday, May 07, 2008. Born in Petersburg, she was daughter of the late William Parkhill Eanes and Connie Payne Eanes and was preceded in death by a son Harry L. Hales and daughter Ivey H. Miller. She co-founded Hales Insurance Agency in Colonial Heights. She is survived by her husband, Joseph C. Hales, Sr.; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph C., Jr. and Betty Lou Hales; a son-in-law, Bob Miller; seven grandchildren and spouses, Joseph C., III and Christine Hales, Scott Miller, Darlene H. Smith, Lisa H. and Greg Kochuba, Angela H. and Randy Berry, Jennifer H. Ferguson and Kimberly J. Murray; ten great-grandchildren and lifelong friends Olive Gill and Alice Andrews. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave., Colonial Heights. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends Friday 6-8:00 p.m. at 664 Boulevard, Colonial Heights. Remains rest at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
