Mary Hare

September 9, 1923 — March 20, 2012

Mary L. "Teady" Hare, 88, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at her residence. Born in Prince Edward County, she was the daughter of the late Howard F. and Evelyn Wills Weaver, and the widow of Dennis R. Hare. She was a member of Matoaca Baptist Church, and a retired Sales Clerk from J.C. Penney in Walnut Hill Mall. Mrs. Hare was a loving mother, and is survived by her four devoted sons, Howard M. Hare of Colonial Heights, Philip K. Hare and wife, Shirley, Richard D. Hare and wife, Lori, and Timothy R. Hare and wife, Christine all of Chesterfield; five grandchildren, Colby, Tegan, Spencer, Caylea, and Chris Hare; one great-granddaughter, Savannah; a sister, Margaret Hodges and husband, Jimmy of Matoaca; numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012 in East Matoaca Cemetery, South Chesterfield with the Reverend Donald Joyner officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Matoaca Baptist Church, Building Fund, 6409 River Road, South Chesterfield, Virginia 23803. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
