Elizabeth N. Harrison, 89, of Church Road, died on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. Born in Dinwiddie County, she was the daughter of the late William T. and Irene Moore Nunnally, and was preceded in death by her husband, David Wallace Harrison Sr., and a son, David W. Harrison Jr. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Church Road where she taught Sunday school for many years, and retired from Midway Elementary School after 21 years. She loved life, her church, her family and was young at heart. She is survived by her sons, Larry N. Harrison and wife, Sandra of Church Road, William G. Harrison and wife, Debbie of Dinwiddie and Richard A. Harrison and wife, Sandra of Dinwiddie; a daughter-in-law, Linda J. Harrison; ten grandchildren, David S. Harrison, Michael S. Harrison, Claude Gregory Harrison, David J. Harrison, Mark N. Harrison, and Richard Scott Harrison, Heather Adkins, Crystal Spain, Jenna Athey, and Jamie Harrison; eight great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Laycock of Leesburg; numerous nieces and nephews; two devoted friends, Avis Huskey and Evonne Nunnally. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 in Central Baptist Church, 6405 Courthouse Road., Church Road, Virginia 23833 with the Reverend Jonathan Waits and the Reverend David Angel officiating. Interment to follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 3-5:00 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Heights Health Care for their care and devotion shown to Mrs. Harrison. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church.
