Mary Hayden

Mary Ann Hayden (Peterson), 85, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, following a brief illness. Mary Ann was born December 3, 1931 in Petersburg, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Hayden Sr. (Ray), two sisters and two brothers. Although Mary Ann was a mother of three, she was a mom to all she knew. She enjoyed thirty wonderful years of retirement and gardening on the shores of the James River. Survivors include her three children, one son and two daughters and their spouses, Raymond Hayden Jr. and wife Julie of Va. Beach, Cathy H. Yohe and husband Steve of Colonial Heights and Cindy H. Farinholt and husband Luther of Virginia, along with eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834, with Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Interment will follow at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George Virginia. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Wednesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
