Colonial Heights

Mary Jane Larrabee, age 95 went home to be with the Lord on January 10, 2025. Born on April 2, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Marian Ray & Athel Milo Sharp of Phoenix, NY. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William G. Larrabee; their son, Damon Scot Larrabee; and brothers, Kenneth Sharp & Ronald Sharp.

After graduating from Phoenix High School in 1946, she pursued her interest in nursing at General Hospital in Syracuse, NY. She earned her RN license in 1949 and began her career at General Electric in Syracuse, where she met William Larrabee. The couple married in 1951 and settled in Central Square, NY, where they raised their two children.

Mary Jane was deeply involved in her community and church, finding joy in serving others. She actively participated in church activities and shared her musical talents as a piano accompanist during worship services at Maple View Baptist Church.

After retiring, Mary Jane and William embraced a peaceful life in the northern woods of Maine. For 20 years, they cherished the tranquility of the nearby lake, the beauty of snow-covered trails, and the quiet of the forest. Mary Jane delighted in spotting moose and other woodland creatures, as well as birdwatching. Her kindness extended to her community, where she dedicated countless hours volunteering at Dover-Foxcroft Hospital and Hibbard Nursing Home, offering companionship, encouragement, and comfort to patients. She also assisted her husband in maintaining the Sebec Lake Weather Station, recording snowfall and temperature readings with precision and care.

In later years, Mary Jane and William moved to Virginia to be closer to their daughter and her family, continuing to share their warmth and love with those around them.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Anne Larrabee Biggar and her husband, Brian; and granddaughter, Brandiann Biggar Molby.
