Mary Miller

Mary Basl Miller, 81, of Claremont, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014. She was the daughter of the late Emil Basl Sr. and Pauline Rott Basl, the youngest of eight children. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin A. Miller; four brothers, Fred Basl, Emil Basl Jr., Charles J. Basl, and Daniel H. Basl; and three sisters, Blanche Vesely, Evelyn Basl and Libby Fried. A native of Petersburg, she moved to Claremont in 1956 when she married Calvin. She is survived by her two sons, Clarence Miller of Claremont and Charles W. Miller and wife, Ellen of Disputanta; several nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend Jerry Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Claremont United Methodist Church, P.O.
