Mary Moore

Mary H. Moore, 95, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Health Care Center. She was born on July 7, 1920 to the late Bert O. Hess and May Scales Hess. Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanne Moore Davis; a grandson, Chip Threatt; and three sisters. She retired after many years of service as a Cafeteria worker with Ettrick Elementary School and was a member of the Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) Club. Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred Moore; a daughter, Mary Lou Barr; son, Bill Moore; grandchildren, Rick Davis, Randy Davis, Wynndell Radcliffe, Jed Davis, Joel Davis, Alli Moore, Luke Moore and Sam Moore; five great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday March 11, 2016 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, VA 23834 with the Reverend Mark Hughes, officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon Virginia. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 10, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
