Mary Posser

Mary T. Posser, 69, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Chippenham Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Catherine Ferry Oliver, and was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Oliver. She was a retired Insurance Adjuster with AIG, and was a member of the Nimble Thimble Quilting Guild of Hopewell. She loved to sew and was an avid genealogist. She loved giving wheelchair rides to Brayden Matthew Taylor, her little pride and joy. She is survived by her husband, Stephen F. Posser Jr.; children, Theresa Jones (Mark) of Surry, Laurie Stricklin (Harold) of Prince George, and Stephen F. Posser III of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Christopher & Matthew Taylor, Brian Weinz, Brandon & Cassidy Bailey, and Tara McGhee; great-grandson, Brayden Matthew Taylor; sister-in-law, Sharon Puma (Barry); Godchild, Lynn Martusciello; special additional family members, Kathy Stewart, Patsy Minlionica, Linda Pregenzer, Lisa Stewart, Angela Minlionica, Miranda Dinghra, Paulette Courington, Alain & Tina Guydan, Ann McKinnish, Heidi & Richard Hines, Angelina & Cici, Mary Gilgosky, and Tom & Robin Atkins; a special "thanks" to Dr. Brian Port, friend and physician; and Patricia Dostie for her kindness. The family would like to thank the staff at Chippenham MST ICU for their loving care and support. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with Fr. Lou Ruoff, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2015 at the funeral home.
