Mary Roberts

Mary Frances, 85, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late James Corbett and Ellie Roberts Hudson and the widow of Garland H. Roberts. Mrs. Roberts retired from Allied Signal Corp. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Mills Wade of Sutherland, Bobbie Mills Miller and husband Jimmy of Prince George, and Brenda Mills Bishop and husband Bobby of Colonial Heights; eight grandchildren, Kim Elmore and husband Mike, James Miller Jr. and wife Leslie, Debbie Puckett, Teresa Withrow and husband Dennis, Steve Wade and wife Susie, Frances Sokol and husband Kenny, Michelle Bishop, and Carol Anne Bishop; nine great-grandchildren, Scotty Miller, Joseph Elmore, Jesse Miller, Matthew Elmore, Amanda Withrow, Jacob Elmore, Faith Ann Ferguson, Ashley Sokol, and Angel Ferguson; sisters and brothers, Jewel Depoy of Little Torch Key, Florida, Ray Hudson of Danville, Gary Hudson and wife Margaret of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Nell Frye and husband Fred of Prince George, Glen Hudson of Dinwiddie, Mary Edmonds and husband Marshall of South Hill, and Gloria Jean Conners of St. Augustine, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009 in the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Joseph Elmore officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Chester. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
