Mary Stegall

Mary K. Stegall of Colonial Heights, formerly of Luray, Virginia went to her heavenly home Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was the daughter of the late Elmer and Esther Shenk and was born in Page County Virginia September 7, 1922. Mary is the widow of Billy Ray Stegall and was preceded in death by two brothers, James F. Shenk and Elbert Shenk Jr., two sisters, Vallee Godbee and Elsie Carrol. Survivors include two sons, Walter L. Berry of Hopewell, Russell Allen Berry and wife, Helen of Prince George, a daughter, Judy Q. Spain of Kerns Texas, three sisters, Betty Hoake and Naomi Gochenour both of Lurray and Dorothy Ann Aylor of Panama City, Fla., eight grandchildren, Jeremy Qualls, Bruce Berry, Kenneth Berry, Rex Berry, Tamie Bailey, Debra Harper-Creech, Robert Cox and Stephanie Groves, fifteen great-grandchildren. A special thanks to Vickie Berry and Augusta Ackerman. A graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in Sunset Memorial Park, Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday September 14, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home and Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
