Mary Harris Trexler, 89, of Colonial Heights, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at her home surrounded by family. Born in Ettrick, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha Jennings Harris and was preceded in death by her brothers, William Smelley and John Harris; and her sisters, Alma Gunn, Florence Cabiness, and Loretta Wyatt. She was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church, and was employed at Allied Chemical and Reynolds Metal. She was a beloved mother and grandmother and is survived by three sons, Roy Trexler, Jr. and wife, Lori, John Trexler and wife, Debbie, and James Trexler and wife, Theresa; five grandchildren, Roy Trexler III, Todd Trexler, James Trexler, Lindsay Fisher, and Jesse Trexler; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Bob Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service on Tuesday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
