Mary Wilder

Mary "Ruth" Tatum Wilder, 90, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Willie L. and Lelia Grammar Tatum, and the widow of Luther A. Wilder Jr. Mrs. Wilder was a charter member of the Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, and was very active and dedicated in the church. Mrs. Wilder was a retired Inspector with Titmus Optical. She is survived by her children, Donald L. Wilder and wife, Phyllis of Chester, and Sandra W. Coleman of Colonial Heights; grandchildren, Michael Wilder, Danny Perkinson, Chad Perkinson, Stephanie Batten, and Stacey Arnold; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in Crowder Memorial Baptist Church, 3018 County Dr., Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Joe Elmore officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum at Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Colonial Heights SPCA or Crowder Memorial Baptist Church.
