Mary E. Williams, 91, of North Dinwiddie, passed away Friday, July 10, 2020. She was born in Pennsylvania to the late Henry and Flora Eppley. Mrs. Williams was a founding member of Western Heights Baptist Church and taught nursery there for 43 years. She loved sewing and being a wife and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Herbert A. Williams; six siblings; and sister-in-law, Jean Waymack (Irvin). She is survived by her children, David A. Williams and Susan Mellott (Richard); grandchildren, Richard “Alan” Williams and Ashton Mellott (Genevieve); great-grandchildren, Margaret, Alice, and Isabelle Mellott; sister-in-law, Shirley Barlow (Gene); and longtime caregiver, Gladys Taylor. A private graveside service will be held at Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George. Funeral arrangements made by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Western Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 24416 Cox Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23803.
