Mary Winn-Lister

Mary Louise Winn-Lister, 90, of Roanoke Rapids, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Halifax Regional Medical Center, North Carolina. Born in Halifax, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Dirvard L. and Lottie Nethery Adkins, and was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Burke and a brother, Willard Adkins. Mrs. Winn-Lister was a retired accountant with Harrah's Casino, an avid bowler, and former member of the Petersburg VFW Auxiliary Post #622. She served with the Salvation Army for over sixty years of dedicated service and as Corp. Treasurer She is survived by her husband, Wayne A. Lister; son, Thomas G. Beasley of Indiana; step-daughter, Wendy Platt of California; two grandsons, Stephen and Kevin Beasley; two sisters, Beulah Moline and Maxine Allen, both of Roanoke Rapids. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon Thursday, February 7, 2013, in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
