Mary Blaha Woodard, 80, of Petersburg, went to be with the Lord Saturday October 24, 2009, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Frank John and Mary Mentlik Blaha. Mrs. Woodard was also preceded in death by her husband, Walter Percy Woodard, and a sister Joan Blaha Skelton. The family originated from the Czech-Republic (Hungary-Russia). Mary was a member of Swift Creek Baptist Church in Colonial Heights, Va. She is survived by three daughters, Patricia W. Swift and husband, Douglas R. of Prince George, Ellen Woodard Dew of Hopewell, Kathleen Woodard Lee and husband James W.L. of Colonial Heights; one son, Stephen A. Woodard of Petersburg; grandchildren, C. L. Tucker Jr. and wife, Tammi, Thomas Neil Tucker and wife, Mitzi, John Pierce and wife, Rhonda, Jeff Pierce and wife, Annmarie, Jennifer Dubberly and husband, David, Jason Dew and wife, Tia, Simone Butler and husband, Mike, Walter Allyn Lee and Samantha, and Josef Mathies Lee; 20 great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and Jerry Blaha; three sisters, Agnes Jones, Barbara Daughtery, and Teresa Smallwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Woodard will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at the residence of Kathleen and James Lee, 132 Sherwood Drive, Colonial Heights, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. A special heart felt thanks go out to Dr. Brian Wasserman, Nurse Linda, Dr. Peter Condro, and Nurse Janice.
