Maurice Beck Jr.

Maurice M. Beck Jr., 16, of Fort Lee, Virginia passed on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at MCV Medical Center. Maurice was a member of Mount Beulah M.B. Church in Mississippi. He attended Matoaca High school where he was active with the J.V. Basketball Team, a member of Petersburg Elite Basketball Team and Fort Lee Seniors Football and Basketball Team. Maurice is survived by his mother and stepfather, Evalani Maneafaiga Faniel and Dewey Faniel; his father and stepmother, Maurice Beck Sr. and Lisa Beck; his brothers, Alex D'marcus and Sam Elijah Faniel; stepbrother, DeAndre Harper; grandparents, Fonotaga Seváaetasi & Kitiona Alo, Mary Etta & Samuel Faniel, and Adrienne & Charles Beck; aunties, Emylena Maneafaiga, Angeline Ioana Lotu, Rebecca Jean Fáalevao, Charisse Mahealani Savaii, Charlene Maneafaiga, Shirley Faniel, Andrea Davis, and Lavernis Berry; uncles, Moafáatou Maneafaiga Jr., Anthony Leaso Maneafaiga, Jaison Anavaotaua Maneafaiga, Vitolio Lotu, Brian Fáalevao, Siaosi Savaii, Charley Faniel, Ira Davis, and Patrick Berry; also survived by a host of cousins. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at Fort Lee Memorial Chapel, Fort Lee with Chaplain (MAJ) David V. Green officiating. Burial will be held in American Samoa. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory (Chapel), 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights.
