Maxine Jones Pollock, 94, of South Prince George (previously Colonial Heights), passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022. She was born in Hopewell on December 12, 1927 to the late John Edward and Maude Elizabeth Jones and was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Pollock; and seven brothers, William, Nelson, Gordon, Robert, Eldridge, Howard, and Lloyd Jones. Mrs. Pollock was a longtime member of Highland United Methodist Church where she was the former treasurer. She was active in many church activities and spent her time serving her community by serving meals to the homeless in Petersburg. She also enjoyed needlework, puzzles, and gardening. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Skelton; brother, Curtis Jones; 19 nieces and nephews; and a number of caring friends. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, 2022 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2022. Interment will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Bermuda Memorial Park, 1901 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, Virginia 23836. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland United Methodist Church, 125 E. Westover Ave., Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
