Melvin Rager

Melvin H. Rager, 70, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2012. Born in Youngstown, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harry A. and Irene Rager, and the widower of Kimberly P. Rager. Melvin was a Retired Emergency Dispatcher for the City of Richmond for 32 years. He is survived by his children, Shannon Rager of Hopewell, Michael Rager and wife, Lisa Wright Rager of Richmond; a brother, Burton L. Rager and wife, Dwan of Colorado; nieces Erica-Leigh Rainey and husband, J.P., Nicole Butt and husband, Aaron; Kimberly Piland, and Lindsey Piland; a nephew, Matt Piland and wife, Amber. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Dr. Andy Brockelman officiating. Interment Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
