Merle Reedy

Merle Eugene Reedy Sr., 92 passed away peacefully at his home in Prince George on Thursday, March 25, 2021. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen of 69 years, his sons Douglas, Merle Jr. (Gene), Bradley, and Bryan, six grandsons, and 11 great-grandchildren. Merle was born in Hagerstown, Maryland and is a proud veteran of the Army Air Corp and worked for the National Cash Register Company for 48 years. Merle was known as a man of many talents and was always available to help friends and family with any project. His proudest project was always his family and as a good, honest, and decent man set the example for his sons to follow. Anyone that knew Merle will miss his easy smile, helping hand, and loving spirit. The family will be receiving visitors from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home, 3935 Crater Road, Petersburg, VA. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Monumental Baptist Church, 2925 S Crater Rd, Petersburg, VA.  Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, VA. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice Care, Lasha Tennessee, and Lakeisha Jones for their care in his last months and days.
