Michael Butler

Michael Wayne Butler, 69, of Colonial Heights, VA passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016. Born in Petersburg, VA he was the son of the late Louis Franklin Butler Sr. and Gladys Lynch Butler. Michael retired from VDOT in 2003 after 35 years of service and was also a United States Coast Guard veteran. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Robertson Butler; three sons, Michael Wayne Butler, Jr. and Christy Lynn, Jason Davis Butler and wife, Theresa and Jeffrey Lee Butler; his baby twin grandchildren, who will be making their first appearance soon; a brother, Louis F. "Frank" Butler, Jr.; several cousins, nieces, nephews; and many dear friends. The family would like to the thank the staff and doctors at MCV for their care shown to Michael. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Rev. David Prather, officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg, VA. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the funeral home.
