Michael Ted Erwin, 67, left this world to be with his Lord on Sunday, September 14, 2014. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay Walker Erwin and daughter, Stepanie M. Erwin. Mike is a member of the Colonial Heights Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War where he received the Army Commendation Medal. He was a graduate of Richard Bland College and the Virginia Commonwealth University. Mike worked for over 30 years for the Carter Myers Automotive Group and rose to the rank of President. He was very active in his industry. He was a member of the Veterans Club at Richard Bland College, past member of the Optimist Club a member and rider for the American Legion Post 2, the Hopewell Loyal Order of the Moose. Mike was on the Richard Bland College Foundation Board the Virginia Automobile Dealers Board and the Tri City Automobile Dealer Board. He is survived by his daughter Kimberly A. Gupton and husband, Michael Gupton Sr.; granddaughter Ann-Marie McIntosh grandson Michael Gupton Jr.; three great-granddaughters, and numerous family and friends. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Colonial Heights Baptist Church 17201 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend Dr. Randy Hahn officiating. Interment will be Private. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. the day of the service at the church. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the Massey Cancer Center, VCU Hospital Richmond, Virginia. Funeral arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of E.
