Michael Miller

Michael J. Miller, 73, of Colonial Heights passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at McGuire VA Medical Center. Born on September 14, 1943, he was the son of the late Martin J. Miller Jr., and Dorothy Beatty Miller, and was also preceded in death by his brother, Martin J. Miller III; and step-mother, Betty L. Miller. Michael was a United States Army Veteran, having served overseas in Korea. He retired as a training specialist for the Department of Defense after many years of service. He was a head coach for youth soccer, enjoyed playing tennis, and was a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Mary Lynn Miller; daughters, Karen Michelle Miller (Berkeley L. Perez, Sr.) and Sara Lynn Miller; sister, Teri W. Miller (Michael Findler); brother, Dan Miller; nieces, Moreta and Teagan Findler; and devoted friends, Glenda Andrews and Jerry Meyer. The family would also like to thank the staff at Journey's Way for their exceptional care of Mr. Miller during his stay at their facility. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Colonial Heights Presbyterian, 211 Lynchburg Ave, Colonial Heights, VA 23834, with the Reverend Sally Ann Sisk and the Reverend Clifton Johnson officiating. Interment will be private.
