Michael Moore Jr.

Michael J. "Mike" Moore, Jr., 35 of Colonial Heights, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Medical College of Virginia. He was born August 1, 1981. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Michael J. "Mike" Sr.; his paternal grandparents, William O. Moore, Sr. and Margaret Lilley Moore; his maternal grandparents, Christopher Neil Wamsley, Sr., and Jane Spain Wamsley. Mike was a member of Ettrick United Methodist Church and a veteran of the United States Coast Guard. He is survived by his mother, Joy W. Moore; sister, Rebecca M. McNew and husband, Robert S. McNew of Chesterfield; brother, Christopher W. Moore; niece, Emma Neil McNew; uncle, William O. Moore Jr. and wife, Karen; aunt, Linda M. Blackman; uncle, C. Neil Wamsley, Jr. and wife, Debbie; and numerous cousins. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Ettrick United Methodist Church 21302 Chesterfield Avenue S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803, with the Reverend Bob Lamb, Reverend James Blankenship and the Reverend Delano Douglas. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Mike to the Ettrick United Methodist Church Building Fund 21302 Chesterfield Avenue S. Chesterfield, Virginia 23803.
