Michael Payne

Michael D. Payne, 65, of Colonial Heights passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Born August 4, 1951, he was the son of the late Noble Glen, and was also preceded in death by his sister, Anne Thiess; and brothers, Glen Snow, William Payne, Nick Payne, and Jerry Helton. Mr. Payne was a United States Army Veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was the former owner of Michael D. Payne and Sons Construction. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Vicki L. Payne; Mother, Velma Payne; sons, Noble A. Payne and Travis A. Payne; three grandchildren, Noah A. Payne, Reagan S. Payne, Ryleigh L. Payne; sister, Barbara S. Johnson; brothers, Roger G. Payne, Ronnie Helton; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, with the Reverend Steve Flowers officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Chester, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the funeral home.
