Michael Preston

Michael David Preston, 32, of Lynchburg, formerly of Colonial Heights, passed away, after a long battle with cancer, on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was born on August 17, 1986, and was preceded in death by an aunt, Jodi Preston. Michael was a 2004 graduate of Colonial Heights High school, and a 2009 graduate of Liberty University, with a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication Design & Graphic Arts. He was currently employed with Isabella's Italian Trattoria in Lynchburg. He is survived by his parents, David Neal and Susan Tomlinson Preston; a sister, Elizabeth Preston Barnes of Virginia Beach; a brother-in-law, Dustin Dwayne Barnes; niece, Zoie Faith Barnes; fiancée, Lindsay Suzanne Kirkland of Lynchburg; grandparents, Richard & Betty Tomlinson of Roanoke and Harry & Ann Preston of Manakin Sabot; aunts and uncles, Diane & Scott Fritzinger, Bruce & Tammy Tomlinson; mother in-law, and father in-law, A. Howard Kirkland and Deborah Kirkland, and numerous cousins & family. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 620 Lafayette Avenue, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834 with the Reverend David Prather, the Reverend Jerry Parker, and the Reverend Darrell Hammons officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
