Michael Toone

Michael Wayne Toone, 51, of Chester, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 at MCV Medical Center. Michael was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Toone Dolbear. Mr. Toone was a member of Crossroads Church, Petersburg where he was involved in the music ministry. He was a talented musical artist and loved gospel music. He is survived by his wife, Paula M. Toone; four sons, Lewis Toone Brown, Dustin Lowery (April), Jacob Lowery (Elizabeth), and Nathan Potts; two daughters, Crystal Lowery and Samantha Toone; ten grandchildren; his mother, Carol A. Mayes and husband, Hugh; his father, Carlton A. Toone and wife, Judith; two sisters, Sheryl T. Vaughan, and Karen T. Stemann (Robert); brother-in-law, Larry George Dolbear; a step-brother, J.J. Munro; a step-sister, Julie Hendrix; numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road with the Reverend Kevin McBride officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Petersburg Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael W. Toone Memorial Fund at WACHOVIA Bank, 3360 S.
