Michelle Kaye Hackett, 70, of Edenton, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021. She was born in Wisconsin on August 10, 1950 to the late Coby and Catherine Stolberg and was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hackett was a retired Medical Transcriptionist and also served her country as a civilian Ombudsman aboard two US Navy ships. In her free time, she was an avid crafter and a member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Hackett was preceded in death by her close friend who was like a mother to her, Joyce Painter; granddaughter, Justice Hackett; and a number of brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband, Richard W. Hackett; children, Robyn Dunning (Brian), Rick Hackett (Sunshine), and Dwayne Hackett (Jamie); grandchildren, Heather, Megan, Coby, Brenndyn, Kenzilyn, Prestyn, Cody, and Damien; great-granddaughter, Halle; siblings, Ronnie Gibson (Cathy) and Ginger Turner (Bruce); and close friends, Bev and Tom Sims. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Virginia 23834.
