Mildred Bridgewater Clark was called Home to be with Jesus on January 11, 2013. She lived in Petersburg most of her life, but most recently resided in Colonial Heights with her daughter, Nancy Clark. She is predeceased by her mother, Ruth May Bridgewater; her husband of 42 years, Lorenza D. Clark; her oldest son, Phillip Warren Clark; and her grandson, Christopher Carl Grogan. She was a long standing member of Southside Baptist Church in Petersburg but was most recently attending Calvary Baptist Church in Colonial Heights with her family. Mrs. Clark graduated from Petersburg High School and received her RN diploma from Stuart Circle School of Nursing. She worked at Southside Regional Medical Center in the Operating Room for over 25 years and retired from Hiram Davis Medical Center in 1989. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one son, Richard Alan Clark Sr. and wife, Panky of Chesterfield, three daughters, Sandra Blue of Chester, Brenda Leonard and husband, Bud of Colonial Heights and her baby girl, Nancy Clark of Colonial Heights; eleven grandchildren, Robin Scearce, Kimberley Blue, Bill Blue, Rebekah Mock, David Blue, Ricky Clark Jr., Amanda Clark, Jason Clark, Amy Clark, Lauren Clark and Michelle Grogan; 12 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by her dearest friend, Kathleen Harris (our Miss Kat). A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Dr. Ray Haskett officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery, Petersburg.
