Mildred Emory Farmer 90, of Colonial Heights, passed away Monday October 14, 2013. She was born June 15, 1923 to the late Robert L. and Glenna Johnson Emory. Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry Webster Farmer and a daughter Carol F. Gay. Mrs. Farmer retired as an L.P.N. from Southside Regional Medical Center and was a member of the Eastern Star. She is survived by a daughter Susan Howard and husband Dean, a son in-law David Gay of Powhatan, grandchildren Melissa Nolan Barkley of Chesterfield, Angela Skorupski and husband John of South Carolina, Janie Arnold of California, Richard W. Arnold of North Carolina, great-grandchildren, William T. Barkley, Kyle A. Barkley, Ryan E. Barkley all of Chesterfield, Theresa Earls, of South Carolina Lily Lewis, of California, Victoria Arnold of North Carolina Allison Arnold of North Carolina. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday October 17, 2013 in the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory 2033 Boulevard with the Reverend Donald Joyner officiating. Interment will follow in Blandford Cemetery Petersburg, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
