Mildred (Millie) Wright Furman, 87, of Colonial Heights, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at the residence surrounded by her family. Born in Petersburg, Virginia she was the daughter of the late Howard C. and Bessie Dunkum Wright, and the widow of John A. Furman Jr. Mrs. Furman was a retired dispatcher for Commonwealth Gas. She is survived by three daughters, Johnnie Dale Humphrey, Betty Kay Covington and husband, Robert, and Barbara Jean Story and husband, Wayne all of Colonial Heights; six grandchildren, John C. Humphrey, Stephanie H. Winn, Robin H. Pritchard, Peyton K. Holderfield, Rob Covington, and Martha Kay Covington; six great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brandy, Raegan, McKenna, Mary Dale, and Shawn. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 5, 2010 in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George with the Reverend Richard Geoghegan officiating, the funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
