Mildred J. "Joan" Hall, 76, of Chesterfield, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Lucy Simmons Taylor, the widow of Richard J. Hall, and was preceded in death by two brothers, and seven sisters. Mrs. Hall was a member of Woods United Methodist Church. She is survived by three daughters, Vickie Bishop and husband, Donnie of Tappahannock; Tanya Wade and husband, Billy of Dunnsville, and Dorie Hairfield and husband, Ernie of Chesterfield; eight grandchildren, Travis, Trentin & Tiffany Bishop, Cindy Daniels, Kim English, Raven Hensley, and Megan & Derek Wade; six great-grandchildren; twin brother, John Taylor; a sister, Essie Bickings; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at Woods United Methodist Church, 7200 Hickory Road (Chesterfield County) with the Reverend Douglas Gilfillan officiating. Interment Woods United Methodist Church cemetery. A reception will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Woods United Methodist Church or Ettrick Matoaca Volunteer Rescue Squad, 5711 River Road, Matoaca, Virginia 23803.
