Our loving and devoted mother, Mildred Whirley Jones, 69, of Colonial Heights, left this Earth on Friday, September 26, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Robert James Whirley Sr. and Virginia Collins Whirley, and was preceded in death by her husband, James Garfield Jones Sr.; a son, John "Johnny" David Jones; one sister, and three brothers. Mrs. Jones was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Petersburg. She is survived by her two sons, James "Jimmy" Garfield Jones Jr. and Mark Jones and wife Dawn; two daughters, Vicky Jones and Stacy Ares and husband Luis all of Colonial Heights; daughter-in-law, Elke Jones; eleven grandchildren, Erik Jones, Ashley Jones, Jonathan Jones, Tosha Moneymaker, Amber Moneymaker, Clint Moneymaker, Michael Jones, Brandon Jones, Kayla Jones, Ramon Ares, and Searra Ares; one great-grandson, Corbyn Jones; two brothers, Aubrey and Kenneth Whirley; and dear family members, Joyce and Jack Palfi, for their love and devotion to our mother to the very end. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, September 29, 2008 in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon with Chaplain Lena Thomas officiating. The procession will leave the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard.
