Mildred Morgan

Mildred Schenck Morgan, 88, of Petersburg, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2010, at her residence. Mrs. Morgan, a Petersburg native, was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Edith Markert Schenck, and had been a secretary at 1st Baptist Church of Hopewell. She was the widow of William D. Morgan. Mrs. Morgan was a member of Monumental Baptist Church in Petersburg, the Order of Eastern Star, and had been a Southside Regional Volunteer. Mrs. Morgan is survived by two sons, Reverend Donald L Tatum of Petersburg, and Ronald R. Tatum and wife Scotti of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, William Robert Tatum and wife Mindy of Garner, NC and Lucy Tatum Austin and husband Richard of Apex, NC; two great-grandchildren; Kayleigh and Andrew Tatum, a sister; Lois S. Johnson of Richmond. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, October 20, 2010 in the Petersburg Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3935 S. Crater Road Petersburg, with the Reverend Donald L. Tatum officiating. Interment will follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. on Tuesday evening, 19 October, 2010, at the funeral home.
