Mildred Mae "Millie" Pate, 79, of Matoaca, passed away Saturday March 12, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Albert Layton and Eda Evelyn Myers Campbell. Mrs. Pate was preceded in death by her husband Thomas H. Pate and a grandson Jacob Mallory Hutson. She was a member of Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church in Colonial Heights, where she was the church organist for many years and was a member of the women's bowling league. She is survived by a son, Thomas Owen Pate of Dinwiddie; daughters, Patti Ann Pate of Chester, and Jacqueline Louise Aldridge of Chesterfield; son, Terence Lee Pate and wife Rita Pierce of Dinwiddie; daughter, Peggy Ellen Pate at the home residence; four granddaughters, Evalyn Shae Hutson, Alaina Marie Hutson, Christena Lee Aldridge and Mary Elizabeth Aldridge; a great granddaughter, Jennifer Lee Ann Hutson; a great grandson, Aiden Matthew Hardy; sister Alva Joan Deutsch and husband, Carl J.; nephews Robert Deutsch, Carl Deutsch, Douglas Deutsch all of Glenmore, Pennsylvania. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday March 18, 2011 at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church, 17120 Jefferson Davis Highway, Colonial Heights with the Rev. Richard Geoghegan officiating. Burial to follow in Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8:30 P.M. at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
