Mildred Mingea Ruble, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025. Born May 6, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Catherine and Roy Wilson Hogue, Sr., and was also preceded in death by her first husband, David Gerald Mingea; and son, Mark David Mingea. She was a devoted member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church for many years, where her faith was a guiding force in her life.
A dedicated homemaker for much of her life, Mildred later found immense joy and purpose in her role as a School Bus Aide for children with special needs for the Colonial Heights Public Schools. For 25 years, she cared for and supported the students she worked with, cherishing the connections she made along the way.
Mildred had a passion for travel and embraced the wonders of the world. From visiting the Holy Land in Israel, to riding camels in Jordan and dining at the Hard Rock Café in Paris, she lived life to the fullest, collecting experiences and memories across the globe.
She was blessed with two wonderful husbands, both of whom brought love and companionship into her life. Mildred’s greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was sharing stories, creating memories, or simply enjoying their laughter and love. Her journey was one of faith, service, and adventure, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving husband of 22 years, James Allen Ruble; daughter, Pamela Mingea Robertson and husband, Mickey; daughter-in-law, Carol Hiott Mingea; six grandchildren, Mandy Hiott, Courtney Mingea, Erin Robertson Weekley and husband, Colten, David Robertson, Cameron Mingea, Catie Robertson; great-grandchildren, Mason, Cayleigh, Blaire, Blakely; brother, Roy Wilson Hogue, Jr. and wife, Brenda; and other extended family members.
