Mildred T. Scott, 90, of Petersburg, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Thursday, October 25, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Moses L. Scott; her parents Hattie and Joseph Turner; and also her brother, Clifton Turner. Mildred was a devoted member of Kenwood United Methodist Church, where she was active for over 50 years. She is survived by a son, Harvey L. Scott and wife, Joyce of Dinwiddie; daughters, Marie Barnes and husband, Tommy of Dinwiddie, Linda Parker and husband, Ike Williams of Dinwiddie, Carolyn Crowder and husband, Tommy of Chesterfield and Dinah Babb and husband, Danny of Dinwiddie; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; sisters, Madge Peterson of Chesapeake and Nonia Blaha and husband, Tony of Dinwiddie; numerous family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 in Kenwood United Methodist Church, 25200 Ritchie Avenue, Petersburg, Virginia 23803 with the Reverend Pamela Rae Seeley officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2033 Boulevard. Flowers are welcome or contributions may be made to Kenwood United Methodist Church.
